Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking multiple Postdoctoral Fellows for the Neurosurgery department at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The department of Neurosurgery is seeking a graduate of a MD or PhD program in the areas of basic sciences (neuroscience preferred) to work as a Postdoctoral Fellow under the supervision of the Director of Operations of Neurosurgery.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Participates in ongoing research protocols for the Neurosurgery department.
Views the recorded surgeries and edits for teaching in the future.
Obtains research mentorship from the Chair and other key members of the research team to develop new proposals for research related neurosurgery.
Capable of presenting at research meetings and educational case conferences/grand rounds that are held in the department from time to time.
Updates the editorial staff with the status of each of the manuscripts that he/she is working on at least once biweekly.
Minimum Education and Experience:
MD or Ph.D. in biomedical sciences or related disciplines.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience with high throughput sequencing and structural biology.
Background in cancer biology, virology, and molecular and cellular biology.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be highly motivated with evidence of productivity.
Individual must also possess strong writing skills, be well organized and have the ability to think independently.
