Summary of Duties:
The Department of Physics, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The Post Doctoral Scholar will perform advanced analysis of high-energy physics data collected by the STAR Collaboration at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Performs simulations for a new detector collaboration for the upcoming Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), and also participates in other service work such as calibration and Event Plane Detector maintenance in STAR. The Scholar performs analysis and physics interpretation expected to result in publishable scientific results, and makes presentations at conferences, as well as writing papers disseminating these results. The Scholar also advises OSU graduate students who are pursuing their PhD in the group.
