The Decontamination Processing Supervisor coordinates the activities of Decontam personnel engaged in decontaminating, processing (High Level Disinfecting) and storing equipment utilized for the care and treatment of patients. In addition, the Supervisor will actively assist the Department Leaders in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the unit. The Decontamination Processing Supervisor will take the leading role in activities such as performance improvement, job performance evaluations, staffing, scheduling, and working with Department Leaders and preceptors in the orientation and training of new employees.
Minimum Education:â¢High school graduate or equivalentâ¢A graduate of a state approved, accredited school of Surgical Technology or Central Service Technician preferred. Minimum Experience/Knowledge:â¢Three yearsâ experience of Endoscopic Scope Processing.â¢Four yearsâ experience in an OR/CSPD/GI environment. â¢Knowledge of Handling, Cleaning and Distributing of Medical Equipment and related support Supplies to Patient Care Areas.â¢Has working knowledge of computer.Required License/Certification:â¢Certified Endoscopic Reprocessing (CER). If no certification upon hire, one must be obtained within a year from hire/transfer and maintained by renewal before expiration date. â¢Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 90 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date. â¢Preferred Surgical Technology Certified or Central Service Technician Certified preferred.
