Job Title Part-time Faculty Early College Coordinators Job Description Summary Due to the exciting expansion of the Montgomery College Early College program, we are looking to add to the Early College team. These part-time faculty members will support incoming students in the Biological Sciences and Business programs on the Germantown campus. The College will continue to serve students on a remote basis until the campus is reopened to students and employees of the college. Job Description
These assignments will begin July 6, 2020 and are expected to continue through the fall 2020 semester.
The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management's sole discretion.
During the academic year part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 11.5 ESH (equivalent semester hour) per semester and no more than 23 ESH per academic year.
During summer part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 10 ESH (equivalent semester hour) for both sessions combined.
These individuals will implement program policies, initiatives and curriculum that promotes educational development and ultimate MC and MCPS completion for each Early College student. Responsibilities include coordination and support of the efforts of the Germantown Campus Early College Biological Science or Business programs through recruitment, case management, academic advising, and collaborative planning and communication with MCPS and MC faculty, staff and administrators.
Masters degree in counseling, psychology, education or related field.
Experience related to academic advising and counseling of students
Experience working with high school aged students is preferred.
Caseload management experience also preferred.
Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus).
