The USC Roski Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology, and USC Ginsburg Institute of Biomedical Therapeutics is seeking a highly trained professional to fill the position of Research Associate, located on the Health Science Campus.
This is a Full-Time Fixed Term position.
Research Associate with PhD in science or engineering background with proficiency in ophthalmic translational research with an emphasis in stem cells and cell culturing.
Plans, designs and conducts highly technical and complex research projects independently and in consultation with supervisor. Analyzes research data and provides interpretations. Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication and/or prepares technical reports, papers and/or records.
Job Accountabilities include:
Assisting and training participating investigators and their staff with use of anterior and posterior eye imaging equipment and electrophysiological testing of visual function
Assistance and training of participating investigators and their staff with the use of the multiphoton microscopy and other specialized imaging modalities
Monitoring use of imaging facilities and maintaining equipment
This position will require working on evenings or weekends as needed.
Preferred Education: Ph.D. in science or engineering
Preferred Experience:Â Prior experience in a clinical setting is desired, but not necessary. Strong computer skills using MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, ability to prioritize, organize, analyze and work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
