Job Description Summary
This position will assist in the management of multiple clinical trials and responsibilities in specific research area. Coordinate the screening of patients, subject enrollment, collection and storage of biological samples and related study documents, and collection of clinical data. Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. Responsible for study coordination for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects.
This position will assist in the management of multiple clinical trials and responsibilities in the Division of Family Planning. We have a robust research program led by our Division Chief, Courtney Schreiber MD, MPH, conducting clinical research in women's health on topics such as contraception, abortion, and miscarriage. This research program is fully integrated within the Family Planning clinic and researchers will work closely with clinical staff and patients. Our goal is to improve the reproductive health and lives of all women, including underserved women.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:

Our research staff includes 7 research coordinators and a research program manager. We use a team approach to coordinating research studies, and our coordinators will be able to work on a variety of projects as both a primary and backup coordinator. Our team is a mix of long-term and shorter-term research coordinators, and we welcome applicants on a healthcare profession track seeking a position to gain research experience. The incumbent may work in multiple locations within Philadelphia, including HUP, Penn Presbyterian, and off-site clinics such as the Philadelphia Women's Center.
The job pay range encompasses the full range of employees from new hires to the salaries of Penn employees with many years of experience and seniority and is not a precise indicator of salaries of new hires when looking at the top end. Based on what we pay employees coming into this position our pay range is 38,000-43,000 based on education and experience above the minimum qualifications.
This position is contingent upon funding.
1-3 years of experience is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
