Reporting to the Vice President of Campus Safety and Security, this position strategically directs the application and use of access control and security technology, including campus intrusion alarms, video surveillance, duress buttons, radio communications system, and emergency callboxes, in a manner that enhances security and safety and minimizes risk. The Director of Access Control & Security Technology supervises full time staff and student workers.
Typically a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a Higher Education security-related environment will be considered. Graduate degree preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Possession of a California Driver's License and ability to drive a motor vehicle safely for extended periods of time.
Minimum seven years of campus security systems experience.
Familiarity with the academic environment, policies, and procedures desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Lenel, Onity and Blackboard access control and alarm systems
License Plate Recognition
Genetec video surveillance systems
