Dr. Rima Rachid, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Assistant Director of Research at the Food Allergy Center at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a new Clinical Research Study Assistant for her investigative work in the Division of Allergy & Immunology. The CRA will coordinate multiple food allergy studies, including but not limited to randomized controlled interventional trials for food oral immunotherapy, studies on fecal microbiota transplantation in food allergy and a longitudinal study of the role of gut microbiota in infant food allergy development. Part of the infant gut microbiota study involves collecting samples of stool from children that have food allergies. If needed, the RSA in this position will be responsible for driving to patient homes to pick up patient frozen samples on dry ice, using Zip car. Therefore, a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
Other principal duties and responsibilities will include:
Screening, recruiting, and consenting study subjects
Acting as a liaison between the research team and study subjects and families to ensure continued information exchange, safety, and support.
Managing study-related communication between multiple parties, including the Principal Investigator, nursing staff, research pharmacy, and corporate sponsor
Study documentation, data management and coordinating the scheduling of patient visits.
Document preparation and review for the Institutional Review Board (IRB)
Other investigative and administrative duties, as necessary
In order to qualify, you must have:
A minimum of a 2 year commitment is highly desirable.
Prior knowledge of allergy and immunology is not necessary. It is most important that the applicant be communicative, highly efficient and well organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
A valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
