Ball State University welcomes applications for its Director for Assessment and Accreditation. This position provides leadership for and oversight of student learning outcomes assessment, academic and administrative unit review, and institutional and unit accreditation within the division of Academic Affairs. Under the direction of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, manages and monitors academic strategic planning and facilitates continuous improvement and accountability.
Minimum qualifications: Earned doctorate from an accredited institution of higher education. At least five years of progressively responsible experience in assessment, accreditation, planning, and unit review in an institution of higher education. Experience presenting information to institutional leadership. Experience working collaboratively with academic units to improve student learning and success and unit and institutional operations. Experience with staff supervision and budget management. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in teams, including a broad range of constituents. Strong analytical, communication (written and oral), research, and presentation skills required. Ability to communicate complex information and analytical results effectively to a broad range of audiences of varying technical expertise. Advanced expertise working with quantitative and qualitative research methods, related computer software, and their usage in higher education. Commitment to inclusive excellence.

Preferred qualifications: Commitment to innovative and authentic assessment of student learning and improvement of the student educational experience. Demonstrated ability to interpret and disseminate institutional assessment data and use of results. A record of successful service leading committees and working groups. Knowledge and application of assessment principles, tools and best practices in higher education. Experience as a peer reviewer for a regional accreditation association. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary management issues in higher education. Ability to demonstrate tact and persuasion.
