Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Student Assistant for the Violence Prevention & Victim Assistance Office within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Reporting to the Education & Prevention Coordinator (EPC) for VPVA at RBHS, the Office Assistant is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the EPC and supporting programming and student outreach related to victim assistance and violence prevention.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Answer phones and provide basic information about programming.
Make appointments for EPC and VPVA Clinical Counselor.
Assist with programming, social media, and outreach details.
Complete a variety of other clerical tasks.
Maintain an organized appearance and clean atmosphere for the office.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school or Bachelor's graduate who is currently enrolled at Rutgers University.
Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate should demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications including word processing and spreadsheets, online searching, and email, and fluency with learning new software applications highly desirable.
Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet time deadlines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Moving around each RBHS campus; moving promotional and awareness materials between campuses; working with team to present programming to students.
Travel between campus office locations (Newark, New Brunswick,) may be required on occasion.
