Salary Range: Dependent on Qualifications and Experience
The work associated with this position requires rapidly developing cellular and genomics approaches to analyze tumors and the tumor immune microenvironment from human from IRB-approved clinical trial correlative studies. The person who fills this position will have multiple responsibilities: 1) Develop, standardize, and validate best practices for molecular and cellular characterization of circulating and tumor-infiltrating lymphoid and myeloid populations in human tumors and tissues; analyze the genetic diversity of T cell receptor and B cell receptor repertoires, and profile the gene-expression of the tumor microenvironment using next-generation sequencing and bioinformatic analyses for IRB-approved clinical trials. 2) Coordinate efficient clinical trial biospecimen tracking with the clinical care personnel through the Tissue Procurement Facility, Translational Genomics Laboratory, and the High Throughput Sequencing Facility to IMGF bioinformatics. 3) Perform independently with a high level of autonomy while also working effectively with the IMGF team to coordinate and guide workflow and technical specifications for multiple correlative studies. 4) Maintain clinical trial correlative study large databases with the meticulous record-keeping required for Good Clinical Laboratory Practice and compliance with FDA and NIH regulations and pharmaceutical industry standards. 5) Prepare graphical and supportive data and documents for clinical trial correlative studies publication with collaboration with study clinician scientists.
Education and Experience:
Candidate must have expertise in developing and validating fluorescent antibody panels for staining, acquisition and analyses with Flow Cytometry as well as the ability to sort subpopulations of fluorescently labeled cells from complex tissues. Other requisite skills for this EHRA position include demonstrated expertise with aseptic technique for tissue, cell and subcellular molecular processing for next generation sequencing and 10X Genomics sequencing library preparation. The candidate must have computer literacy for large databases, data analyses using FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, 10X Genomics CellRanger, and CytoBank and the ability to communicate the information accurately and in a timely manner to each clinical trial and bioinformatics teams.
