Experience using different teaching methods, which includes case-based learning, 'flipped classroom,' interactive large group presentation, audience response systems, and curriculum delivery systems (Blackboard) is highly preferred.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
The successful candidate will:
Contribute to the development and delivery of physiology curriculum, including foundational and systems-based courses.
Collaborate with faculty in other departments to integrate physiology throughout the undergraduate medical education curriculum.
Provide for instruction using various methods of content delivery, including large and small group discussions, case reports, grand rounds, and other interactive approaches.
Participate in the writing of exam questions based on COMLEX-USA and USMLE styles.
Maintain scholarly activities, including application for research grants, dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals, and conference attendance.
Act as a faculty advisor and participate in selection of students.
Perform other duties as assigned by the chair of the department.
Note: The new medical school will be located in the Grand Central Park community of Conroe, TX – just 5 miles N of The Woodlands, and 35 miles N of Houston. The current location is in Huntsville, but this position will move to Conroe upon completion of the new medical school facility (spring, 2020).
