The Nechiporuk Lab focuses on the basic research concerning development of the peripheral system in zebrafish.
The Research Assistant will oversee daily operations of a 500-tank zebrafish facility. Primary responsibilities consist of facility and systems maintenance, maintaining laboratory zebrafish strains, assisting other researchers with zebrafish related experiments, feeding adult and larval zebrafish, accurate documentation and dealing with system repair issues, in consultation with the Principal Investigator.
The Research Assistant will also be responsible for running day-to-day operations of the lab. These include ordering lab supplies, maintaining lab equipment, and making common lab solution and reagents.
Bachelor's Degree with major courses in field of research
Ability to perform accurate facility record keeping, coordination with veterinary staff for regular health inspections, and tracking of supply inventory/pricing
Experience with animal/fish husbandry and use of a research model
