The SOCCI Physicians department is seeking for a highly motivated Patient Service Representative II. In this position, you will support highly respected physicians and clinical staff in the delivery of health care by performing a broad range of administrative and patient-focused tasks to maintain a smooth and efficient office workflow.
What will you be doing in this role?
The incumbent is expected to follow established practices, policies, and guidelines to provide clinical and administrative support in the licensed Cancer Center.
These responsibilities include:
Answering and triaging calls- directing to appropriate individuals or departments
Scheduling and authorization for appointments, surgeries and ancillary services
Perform insurance verification functions
Handle all MD requests
Process and track all incoming and outgoing referrals
Sorting and deposition of mail and patient information in compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations following Cedars-Sinai standards
Assist in all work assignments
Interface/liaison with other departments
Provide back-up coverage for other PSRs
Other duties as assigned
The PSR II applies a detailed knowledge of the areas assigned responsibility, and a general knowledge of the ambulatory/outpatient physician setting and its inter-relation with the larger Health System organization. Ensuring the timely completion of work assignments in accord with established timelines.
