The VP for Strategic Initiatives and Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer will provide leadership and consultation related to key strategic initiatives and inclusive excellence practices. The VPSI/CDEIO will collaborate with campus partners to embed DEI into the recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff and provide advocacy to promote an inclusive community that reflects the diversity of our campus. As VPSI and CDEIO, the incumbent will serve as the senior administrative officer responsible for the executive leadership and management of the University's DEI programs and strategic planning to ensure successful implementation of DEI initiatives, programs, and projects. The VPSI and CDEIO will report to the President and will professionally represent the University's position and directive to various constituents to meet internal and external commitments in a fast paced, innovative environment. The VPSI/CDEIO will also lead key institutional imperatives that strategically move the institution forward in operational and academic excellence.
The job requires a high level of specialized knowledge in issues of dealing with and advocating for diverse populations. The position also requires a demonstrated record of higher education administrative expertise and successes. 5 years of previous relevant experience and or recognized training or appropriate education qualifications are required.
