This position will be reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, directing the Hospital's Conflict of Interest program, with particular focus on individual and institutional conflict of interest disclosure, analysis, and management.
This Conflict of Interest Officer will be responsible for:
Providing leadership and guidance in all efforts regarding the Hospital's Conflict of Interest program.
Managing overall development and execution of enterprise-wide strategy and policies related to individual and institutional conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment.
Developing enterprise-wide compliance strategy to mitigate risk and implement best practices regarding foreign influence in research activity.
Serving as expert resource on the laws, regulations, policies, and other questions regarding interactions with industry and foreign collaborators, such as consulting agreements, financial or material support, gifts, vendor relationships, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance, etc.
Achieving compliance objectives by working with a variety of departments and offices (e.g., Research Administration, Research Finance, Research Operations, Office of Sponsored Programs, Clinical Trials Business Office, Technology and Innovation Development Office, Institutional Review Board, Office of General Counsel, Research Compliance, Billing Compliance, Privacy, etc.).
Serving as the liaison with Harvard Medical School on management of conflicts and related issues.
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in health policy, research administration, business administration or a related field; graduate degree in law or health or research administration preferred; and at least (5) five years' experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
