Under the direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director of Counseling, Disability, Alcohol and Other Drug Services (Director II) is responsible for the management, development and implementation of a comprehensive counseling program for the educational, personal and psychological support of students and assists in the development of policy affecting the mental health environment of the University. The Director also supervises disability services; the substance abuse services program; manages and implements professional development opportunities for counseling staff; organizes efforts to enhance online resources via telemedicine platforms and ensures on-going training for the counseling staff. The Director collaborates with Health Services and other University departments to provide an integrated educational outreach service to students and does related work as required.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in a related discipline; current state licensure as a psychologist, professional counselor or related profession; and a minimum of two years of professional experience supervising counselors is required. Five years of clinical supervision in a college or university counseling center; demonstrated organizational and administrative responsibilities; and experience providing mental health prevention to a diverse population is preferred. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to use and integrate technology into the counseling experience.
