The Cedars-Sinai Division of Transfusion Medicine is a state-of-the-art facility that works to ensure a medically safe and adequate blood supply, as well as transfusion medicine and therapeutic apheresis consultative services for Cedars-Sinai patients. Three full-time transfusion medicine faculty members and a staff of highly skilled medical technologists, nurses and assistants deliver outstanding care for donors and patients. The Therapeutic Apheresis Unit consists of 6 beds and provides a variety of procedures, including plasma exchange, red blood cell exchange, low-density lipoprotein apheresis, stem cell collection, photopheresis and platelet/white blood cell depletion to both inpatients and outpatients.
Summary of Essential Duties:
Perform Therapeutic Apheresis procedures on patients
Conduct plasma exchanges
Red cell exchange, and stem cell collection and other transfusion procedures
Weekday work schedule is four 10-hour shifts, 8am - 6:30pm, rotating call once every eight weeks
