Fall quarter 2020 (September 28 - December 18):
Lecturer for AHI 1A. Ancient Mediterranean Art. Lecture3 hours; Discussion1 hour. General introductory survey course that covers the art and architecture of the ancient Mediterranean world, including Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Lectures are held twice weekly. Instructor supervises Teaching Assistants.
Lecturer for AHI 185Avant-Gardism & its Aftermath, 1917-1960. Lecture/Discussion4 hour(s). Social, cultural, aesthetic, and theoretical development for artists and their audiences in the context of larger issues like the Mexican, Russian and German revolutions, WWI, the Depression, WWII, etc., and a critical-theoretical inquiry into questions of modernism, modernity, and avant-gardism. Lectures are held twice weekly. Instructor supervises Teaching Assistants.
Winter quarter 2021 (Jan. 4 - March 19):
Lecturer for AHI 173Roman Art & Architecture. Lecture3 hour(s); Term Paper. Art and architecture of Rome and the Roman Empire, from the founding of Rome through the 4th century C.E. Lectures are held twice weekly. Instructor supervises Teaching Assistants.
Qualifications - A Ph.D. in Art History or a related field is preferred, M.A.in Art History considered; prior teaching experience desirable. Salary is dependent on qualifications.
