Description of Work:
The Director works independently to create, design, direct, implement, and evaluate a wide variety of projects within the Public Policy Center. The Director is responsible for developing a portfolio of projects to enrich public policy in Nebraska that will catalyze policy change, create effective partnerships, develop policy-relevant research, deploy University expertise, and facilitate public participation.
The Director oversees all aspects of a portfolio of projects from project conception, design, and development to final reporting including: Identifying and obtaining funding; Coordinating and monitoring all aspects of research (including identifying, recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff, students, and consultants for portions of the work, as well as undertaking research directly); Facilitating and coordinating the work of multiple projects; Researching and reviewing existing reports and literature; Developing scopes of work, timelines, and research plans for various projects; Synthesizing research, research reports, and recommendations; Developing new projects within areas of expertise.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Science degree and training. Minimum of eight (8) years minimum of experience in research or project work is required. Extensive experience in planning and monitoring, collaborative processes is required. Three (3) years project administration experience is required. Outstanding verbal, interpersonal, planning, and writing skills required. Experience in research design, data collection, and analysis required.
All applicants must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a DMV background check authorizing them to operate university vehicles.
Highly qualified candidate will have a PhD. Experience with successfully obtaining project funding is preferred. Experience in program evaluation is preferred.
Posted Salary: $90,000 minimum depending on qualifications & experience
