Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for our part-time/adjunct faculty pool for the School of Humanities, Communication and Transfer. Potential areas of need may be in the fields of English, developmental reading and writing, history, art, communications, music, philosophy, religion and Spanish. This position is considered a temporary, part-time or adjunct position used to fill both online and in-person courses.
Applicants accepted for online course assignments will be required to complete a Faculty Certification Training Program for Online Instructors and meet (online or in-person) with a member of the distance learning staff. When a position is available, qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview and asked to submit further documentation.
Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities and learning materials preparations.
Provides instruction to students in the assigned area of Humanities and Communication, ensuring that student learning outcomes demonstrate that KCTCS posted course competencies are met.
Prepares lesson plans (as needed), implements instruction, and maintains records and reports on graded student assignments, attendance/activity and progress. Timely feedback will be provided to all students.
Utilizes approved online course templates and syllabus format, maintains classroom order and discipline. and provides additional input and evaluation information through participation in annual course assessment, student evaluations of instruction, certification for online courses, and related activities.
Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline from an accredited association.
3-5 years of experience in discipline area.
