The University of California, Irvine (UCI), Department of Family Medicine has openings for board-certified/eligible family physicians to join the UCI faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series (Assistant or Associate rank). This recruitment is for a Sports Medicine / Family Physician in an ambulatory practice.
DUTIES: The incumbent will demonstrate clinical professional competency and activity; provides excellent clinical patient care; teaches, precepts and advises family medicine / sports medicine fellows, residents and medical students; and performs university and public service.
DESIRED SKILLS: Procedural competency (musculoskeletal injections/procedures, sports ultrasound, family medicine ambulatory procedures); team physician experience; leadership experience; interest in research and other scholarly activities; is proficient in the Spanish, Vietnamese, or Korean language.
REQUIREMENTS: Complete applications are being sought from candidates who own an M.D. or D.O. degree and have completed a sports medicine fellowship, or are currently enrolled in a sports medicine fellowship; American Board of Family Medicine Certification and Sports Medicine Board Certification or eligibility; must be eligible for licensure by the California Medical Board; must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable to the HS Clinical Professorial series.
Positions are dependent upon funding. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.
