Research specialist position available for a motivated individual wanting to conduct research under the supervision of the principal investigator. Projects in the lab center on understanding the genetic basis of sleep and sleep disorders using invertebrate animal model systems. This project will entail studies of C. elegans behavior and metabolism using genetic, molecular biology, and biochemical analysis tools in addition to extensive behavioral observations. In addition, lab maintenance tasks and ordering supplies and book keeping will be required. Attendance of research seminars and reading of scientific literature relevant to the research will be required.
