Hazard Community & Technical College invites applications for an Academic Advisor (Success Coach). The Success Coach will assist currently enrolled students and entering non-traditional aged and GED students with their transition to college, providing assistance and support to enhance the students' academic success. The Success Coach will act as a liaison and point of contact for community resource providers who will provide wraparound services to eligible students.
This position is a 10 month contract position. A total of three positions will be filled
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Assists non traditional aged students transitioning to college, providing a point of contact and acting as a resource during the student's first semester in college.
Assists currently enrolled college students with non academic supports, such as how to use Blackboard® and Student Center in PeopleSoft®, and with setting up user account information.
Acts as liaison with local resource providers, including develooping a standardized visiting schedule and organizing on-campus resource fairs, to provide wraparound support for students.
Assists GED students transitioning to college, providing a point of contact and acting as a resource during the student's first semester in college.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Counseling or related field plus two years of related experience.
