Reporting to the Director of Industry Partnerships and ultimately to the Associate Provost for Career and Professional Development, the CPD Specialist (business title: Assistant Director for Business Professions) will provide career coaching to students primarily interested in business careers. The successful candidate will be charged with developing, supporting, and maintaining high quality business programs in Career and Professional Development (CPD).
Typically a Master's Degree (M.A., M.Ed., J.D., other) in counseling, human resources or related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum of 3 year's experience in higher education, career development, student services, human resources, employer relations, and/or experiential education.
Desired experience working with undergraduate students; familiarity with career development/counseling theories and methods; experience supporting students and/or team members from diverse backgrounds.
Desirable: Experience working with undergraduate students; familiarity with career development/counseling theories and methods; specialized knowledge of the business professions.
Knowledge of career development/counseling theories and methods. Knowledge of the academic environment and experiential learning best practices.
Demonstrated experience in business and/or corporate roles preferred accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, operations, and/or human resources.
Exceptional writing and public presentation skills required.
Enthusiastic team player with solid interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with faculty, administration, employers and alumni.
