Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) is comprised of six (6) Regions which provide services to specific 'groupings/clusters' of schools, colleges, and organized research units (5 academic, 1 all other). This regional approach to providing administrative services is intended to improve service quality by re-establishing personal connections and to develop more local expertise.
Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, UndergrAduate Studies, Organized Research Units REgion (SHARE) - is part of Berkeley Regional Services, within the division of the Vice Chancellor for Administration. Our mission at SHARE is simple. We aim to provide the Human Resources, Research Administration, Purchasing & Reimbursement services that departments and ORUs in our region require - in a timely and efficient manner, with minimal hand-offs and a culture of collaborative improvement.

As part of the SHARE HRIM team, this position's primary emphasis involves inputting information in the Human Resources system UCPath, to support summer hiring for Summer Sessions, Fall Academic Student Employees, Graduate Student Researchers and Lecturers. This position will work in partnership with the other HR teams to process hires efficiently for on-time access and pay. This position will resolve any client issues that require data audit, changes and/or entry and close out resolutions once the resolution has been achieved. This position will provide exceptional service to meet customer needs and ensures each transaction is handled with confidentiality, timeliness, accuracy and sensitivity.
Enters employee information into UCPath system for new hires, change of status, terminations, etc, ensuring that the data is correct and consistent.
Ensures Audits for employee information and appointment information entered into UCPath are done accurately, promptly and have resulted in on-time access and pay for new hires and rehires.
Manage queues in ticketing system to ensure they are meeting critical deadlines.
Identifies problems, works with submitters or HR Professionals to correct or to obtain all required information. This includes chartfield validation issues, incomplete or inaccurate onboarding paperwork, to visa compliance issues.
Responsible for individual workload and time management with respect to work completion. This includes making workload decisions as needed and escalating insufficient/excessive work situations.
Ensures data integrity using established post entry audit procedures.
Resolves issues regarding UCPath questions.
Manages sensitive and confidential information.
Consults with Generalists and HR manager when working on non-routine issues of complex or sensitive nature.
Collaborate with the Payroll team to resolve issues resulting from errors or systemic problems.
Other duties as assigned such as preparing documentation and explaining transaction procedures to other department personnel.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service in high volume, fast-paced, professional environment.
Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.
Possess a high degree of political acumen and awareness.
Proven experience exercising strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Must possess ability to work rapidly and accurately with pressure of competing deadlines and frequent interruptions in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
Must be able to lift 15-20 pound boxes of files to be processed.
Knowledge of or ability to understand HR processes for data entry into UCPath.
Knowledge of HR processes and procedures for maintenance and purging of personnel files.
Skill in managing sensitive and confidential information regarding bargaining unit issues.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
High school diploma and/or equivalent experience/training.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary & Benefits
This position is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position. Hourly pay for this role is commensurate with experience within the range of $24.17 - $25.31, Steps 1.0 - 3.0.

This is a full-time, 40-hours per week, limited (temporary) appointment, with an end date of September 30, 2020
This UCPath Surge position is in accordance with ARTICLE 28.B.5.b: Limited Appointment: The automatic conversion to career status, as provided in Section B.2. above will not occur when one or more of the following occur: b. The position into which the employee is hired is not an ongoing position, in that the position is established and funded for 18 months or less at any percent of time. In the event the position is funded beyond 18 months, the limited appointee shall be converted to career retroactive to the first of the month following attainment of 1000 hours; except that nothing in this subparagraph precludes the University from releasing the limited appointee prior to the effective date of the funding extension.
This is a designated position requiring fingerprinting and a background check due to the nature of the job responsibilities.
