To assist all nursing students (ADN/ LVN) towards successful progress through each level of the Associate Degree Nursing program or the LVN program.
Required Education:
Current Texas RN or LVN license and a minimum of one-year recent work experience.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrate understanding of issues pertaining to teaching, learning, and tutoring in a community college setting. Ability to work collaboratively with a diversity of clients (tutors, students, support staff, faculty). Experience using MS Office software including Excel. Knowledge of data tracking/analysis methods. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, administration, students, and staff.
Preferred Skills & Abilities:
At least one year of teaching experience within the community college setting or other comparable higher education or clinical experience.
Required Experience:
Experience in an ADN / LVN program or other setting related to nursing education or health science education.
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas, plus one year of experience. Previous teaching experience.
Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated previous work experience with nursing students in a hospital setting or assigned as a preceptor for nursing students. Experience with distance and/or hybrid education. Previous teaching experience in a community college or higher education setting. Three years practicing as an RN, plus three years of experience in an acute care area.
