Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota wishes to hire a full-time Post Doc. This person will work on research related to the projects funded by NIH and other sources developing novel oncolytic adenovirus-based cancer therapeutics based on the novel vector system we have developed recently.
Job duties include: 1. Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of research studies in cancers. Currently, we have emphases on a) development of cancer therapeutics based on viral vectors, b) analyses of metabolic factors affecting cancer progression, c) development of vector system for in vivo gene editing and its application. The activities include cloning, cell culture, virus amplification/purification, complex viral vector system design and construction, baculovirus-based protein expression and analyses, in vitro and in vivo analyses of the products based on various molecular biology techniques for evaluation of developed therapeutics, and also collection and data analyses; reports and publication of findings. Active participation in research activities are strongly encouraged, and proposing new ideas and approaches are always welcomed.
2. Develop of research ideas, projects and study protocols -Participate in weekly lab meeting. -Participate in weekly one-on-one meeting with PI. -Generate relevant and novel research ideas for new projects
