Job Description Summary: Seeking adjunct instructors to teach public speaking and/or interpersonal human communications courses starting in the Fall 2020 semester. Current available courses require face-to-face daytime availability at the Dowagiac and Niles campuses. We do not offer online courses at this time. Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:
Promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students.
Preparing and delivering lessons using a master syllabus and standardized curriculum.
Working comfortably with a diverse student population that includes dual-enrolled high school students, traditional college students, and nontraditional college students.
Grading assignments and providing feedback to students in a timely manner.
Utilizing a variety of student engagement strategies in the classroom to ensure active student participation.
Using Moodle regularly for posting assignments, attendance, and grades.
Being proficient with computer technologies, including Microsoft Office and email.
Bringing a positive, energetic, and professional attitude into the classroom.
Being accessible to students and responding to all in-person and electronic student inquiries.
Provide the department with student performance data that is required for regular outcomes assessment.
Becoming familiar with rules, regulations, administrative practices, guidelines, and policies of the College.
