The Department of Pediatrics’ Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor to serve in the highly successful Neurointestinal and Motility Disorders Program for the Division. The program currently has three full-time pediatric GI faculty and represents an important strategic component for the Division and is a leading program in the state of Illinois. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in the care of pediatric patients with motility and functional GI disorders and qualify for appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. Evidence of productive clinical or basic research will strongly support any candidate for the position. Salary is commensurate with experience and will be competitive. Starting date is flexible.
The Neurointestinal and Motility Program has considerable support including a dedicated psychologist, two nurse practitioners, four nurses, a program coordinator, research coordinator as well as administrative and technician/medical assistant staff. The successful candidate will join an expanding group of vibrant and dedicated academic pediatric gastroenterologists ranked in the top 10 divisions in the United States (https://www.luriechildrens.org/en/specialties-conditions/pediatric-gastroenterologist/). The section is currently composed of 22 MD and 2 PhD faculty members, 10 nurse practitioners, and 7 fellows. The Section has over 16,000 annual patient visits and performs over 1,800 procedures with a busy endoscopy program. Salary will be based on rank and includes an excellent benefits package. There is a strong collaborative environment within both pediatric gastroenterology and the department of pediatrics including pediatric surgery, urology, ENT, and psychology. There are also considerable opportunities to collaborate with a robust and well established adult GI motility program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
