As an Information Security Analyst, you will collaborate with peers in the IT department, provide security guidance across the organization and utilize your expertise to ensure system security for the organization. You will play a vital role in our strategic process, actively moving the foundation – and the university – to new heights.
Security alert monitoring – respond to system-generated security alerts from various monitoring systems, as well as proactively search for anomalies and events.
Monitor scans for vulnerabilities and respond to alerts that require immediate attention.
Monitor phishing alerts and respond according to operating procedures.
Maintain log data as required, consolidating from multiple sources, ensuring that logs get properly recorded according to policy.
Act as security incident first responder and provide on-call support after-hours and on weekends.
Administer foundation security resources including, VPN, firewalls, and network scanners.
Recommend solutions to enhance the security systems and infrastructure of the organization
Provide security research support and recommendations for new technologies.
Participate and assist in security assessments and implement vulnerability remediation plans.
Assist with implementing efforts to protect foundation digital assets and support asset management efforts.
Support information protection processes and procedures across all systems.
Assist with planning and preparedness for security incident recovery.
Education & Work Experience
A bachelor’s degree in cyber security; computer sciences; MIS; or other related field and a minimum of 3 years experience with information security related equipment and processes.
