Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSE Create, maintain and enhance a central electronic organization system for Transfer Plans and Articulation Agreements to provide course equivalency data and comprehensive academic program plans to community college students considering transfer to WSU. Serve as a liaison to community colleges to ensure that every course taken by a WSU student at another college is articulated for WSU equivalency and keep updated Transfer Guides of current course-to-course transfers for each community college. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPlan, develop and maintain an online organization system for Transfer Plans for community colleges. Liaise between academic departments at WSU and the community colleges. Identify changes in programs and coursework and coordinate the updating of plans accordingly. Identify problems and develop solutions or escalate as needed. Update Transfer Guides with current course-to-course transfer equivalency information for each community college, including updating information on the Michigan Transfer Network (MTN) through MACRAO. Run technical processes to create, transmit and upload data to the MTN Network server. Coordinate Transfer plans with community college transfer contacts for smooth student transfer. Identify problems or questions relating to substitution or waiver of WSU degree requirements and facilitate solution. Act as liaison between academic departments and community colleges in the process of creating and implementing effective articulation agreements. Guide departments procedurally through the articulation process to create and implement Articulation Agreements consistent with the policies of the University and the community college. Guide the process to a successful conclusion.Update the Transfer Credit Evaluation Website to incorporate changes to transfer plans. Develop and maintain an electronic data exchange to share course changes between WSU and community colleges.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Coursework in Communication, English , Business Administration or related field.Knowledge of Michigan community college system and transfer policies. EXPERIENCEMinimum 2 years of job-related experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREDBUSINESS ACUMEN: Reasonable knowledge of University policies and procedures. Ability to match written degree requirement records with transfer articulation records to formulate program-specific information for transfer students.COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Superior written and verbal communication skills. Strong electronic communication skills. ANALYTICAL SKILLS: Strong attention to detail, to assure the accuracy of information published electronically.TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS: Ability to balance several priorities at a time, assess workflow and make adjustments.COMPUTER LITERACY: High degree of computer literacy, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access/Excell, web tools and a basic understanding of programming logic and query langue. Must have the ability to create and maintain web pages using content management software.SUPERVISORY SKILLS: Ability to train staff and develop their skills.
