Western Kentucky University Campus Child Care (WKUCCC) is seeking applicants for the position of Education Coordinator. WKUCCC is a federally funded Head Start and Early Head Start program serving children ages 0-5 years old and their families, at two locations in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This is a grant funded position and continued employment is subject to availability of funds.
WKUCCC provides team-structured teaching methodology in a mainstreamed and child-centered classroom for children ages infant through preschool. The Education Coordinator is responsible for supervising and training staff; management of program classroom schedules; management for compliance of federal and state regulatory requirements for education and disability services, including analysis and reporting outcomes. This position coordinates with Management team and leads teaching staff in the implementation of Head Start/EHS education services through classroom observations; federal and state reviews; knowledge of appropriate instructional materials; oversight of professional development plans; teaching methods monitoring curriculum and assessment data and reporting outcomes and related data entry. This position is also responsible for coordinating the identification and delivery of disability services for children ages 0-5 and community outreach.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Good communication skills (both oral and written) and record-keeping skills are essential. Ability to work with young children and their parents and be a strong team member with program staff. This position works collaboratively and cooperatively with community organizations and individuals from a variety of backgrounds; sound judgment; computer literacy and management skills are desired. Head Start and special needs experience is helpful.
Must have a satisfactory criminal records check for abuse and neglect, negative TB skin test, and a satisfactory physical examination. Some travel required.
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Two years of experience in supervising multiple staff.
Experience with managing service delivery for young children and those with disabilities and their families in a preschool, infant or toddler setting.
Experience with monitoring curriculum and assessment data and reporting outcomes.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
Salary Range: $46,000 - $48,000
