The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks a tenure-track faculty member who will teach computer and electrical engineering courses, establish an externally-funded research program, and contribute to the intellectual environment through service.
YSU is student-centered and as such, this person must be an effective classroom teacher, a good communicator, and a person who can work effectively with students to achieve their full potential as engineers. Duties include developing and teaching courses from the sophomore to graduate levels in the electrical and computer engineering programs, actively pursuing external funding, advising of departmental majors, and participation in college, university, disciplinary & community service.
Candidates should exhibit the ability to: contribute through teaching, scholarship and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community; to apply evidence-based teaching practices to engineering coursework; and contribute to the department's strategic focus on trusted microelectronics and related graduate programs.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field at the time of appointment.
Exceptional ABD candidates may apply and be considered with a letter of support from their dissertation chair attesting that all degree requirements, other than the dissertation defense, have been completed. Candidates must have achieved and supply documentation of the Ph.D. at the time of appointment.
All areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering will be considered, but preference will be given to applicants who have experience in the areas of VLSI, Microelectronics, Computer Hardware, Microwave/RF Engineering and Autonomous Control with emphasis on Microelectronic Chip Design and Nanotechnology.
Demonstrated experience and excellence in: teaching, advising, recruiting, mentoring, and service.
Established record of scholarly activity, such as publications, grants, or presentations.
