Annual Salary Range (based on PCSSL education and credentialed teaching experience): $54,166.00 - $99,766.00 Representation: Unit IX - Non-Senate Instructional American Federation of Teachers

The Preuss School at UC San Diego is a charter middle and high school dedicated to providing a rigorous college prep education for low-income scholars who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. As a department within UC San Diego Academic Affairs, The Preuss School also serves as a model school to study and develop best practices in the preparation of low-income, urban scholars for college admission.
Under the supervision of the Principal, incumbent will provide quality services to special education scholars from grades six through twelve, through a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, co-teaching, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education instructor/s as well as serve as the case manager for scholars' Individual Education Plans (IEPs). The ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking parents fluently to implement special education is a highly preferred skill for the position.

All applicants are required to possess the following basic qualifications: Required - Bachelor's degree with emphasis in the appropriate field. Required - Current California Teaching Credential - Education Specialist Instruction (Mild/Moderate) with Autism Authorization. Required - California Teaching Credential - Clear Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) Certificate or equivalent authorization. Required - Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) compliance. Required - Applicants must pass Live Scan background check and Tuberculosis (TB) screening. Preferred - Experience in teaching Special Education Preferred - Bilingual in Spanish
