Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical service includes in-patient, outpatient and field service. This position will be responsible for a broad range of in-house services including reproductive examinations, lameness/foot work, and medicine/surgery cases. Service to cattle, small ruminants, swine, and occasionally equine is expected. This position will also participate in field services approximately 1 day per week. Teaching veterinary and veterinary technology students is accomplished within the course of clinical service. Participation in didactic courses in food animal medicine and surgery is expected. This is a non-tenure track position, with a clinical service-teaching combined FTE of approximately 90%.
Minimum qualifications include a DVM and eligibility to apply for a relevant specialty board. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are required. This position requires a valid driver's license, and ability to conduct vigorous physical activity. Attainment of a regular licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Mississippi is required, as well as ability to maintain accreditation. Those individuals with current board certification in a relevant specialty are desired
