The Program Coordinator I for Engaged Civic Learning reports to the Associate Chancellor for Civic Engagment. The Program Coordinator facilitates collaborations between the Office of Civic Engagement and a range of internal and external organizations, including academic departments, Student Affairs, government agencies, and area non-profits. The Program Coordinator enables Rutgers faculty, students, and staff to collaborate productively with external partners by making mutually agreeable arrangements for programs that enable engaged civic learning and student volunteerism. The Program Coordinator works with external partners to identify community challenges and opportunities, then works with faculty, staff, and students to create learning experiences consistent with those needs. The Program Coordinator supports individual students and student organizations engaging in service to Camden and the region. The Program Coordinator is responsible for training students for participation in civic engagemement. The Program Coordinator develops and implements evaluation mechanisms.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Masters degree and a minimum of two years relevant experience in coordination or administration are required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective written and verbal communication.
Experience in or knowledge of the non-profit sector, student volunteerism and engagement. Knowledge of Camden and the surrounding region. Experience working with college students.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed to support student volunteerism and community events.
Valid driver’s license and access to an automobile. Occasional travel may be required.
Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and within departmental budgets.
