Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Research Associate II staff member for the Center for Tobacco Studies (CTS) within the School of Public Health.
The Research Associate II will be responsible for the conduct of highly specialized and technical research in area of tobacco and for assisting in the management of tobacco research studies, including design, analysis, and reporting.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs various research activities related to tobacco; may conduct independently or as assigned specialized research for a particular project.
Participates in the development and selection of research methodology and instrumentation and coordination of qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and interpretation to ensure conformance with the goals and objectives of the Center.
Under supervision, assists in the conducting of tobacco focused research and development regarding the analytical and instrumentation functions, participates in the evaluation of the existing procedures, suggesting revision where necessary and proposing new procedures where required.
As requested, assists in the implementation of the programs and projects in special areas of interest to the Center.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in a relevant science plus three (3) years of related research experience.
Experience with epidemiologic research methods and quantitative analysis is required.
Experience with statistical software (e.g., SAS, Stata), data management programs (e.g., Excel, Access), and data collection programs (e.g., Qualtrics) are required.
Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Experience with tobacco focused research.
