Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The lab at Rowan University SOM is seeking a selfmotivated,
resourceful and detail-orientated research technician/staff scientist.
The lab technician will perform activities pertinent to the sponsored
research assigned by the principle investigator (PI).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in ordering, receiving and maintaining lab supplies and specimens.
Provides suitable instructions to laboratory personnel.
Performs standard laboratory procedures.
Prepares and maintains culture media, reagents, strains and stock solutions.
Maintains the laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
Maintains accurate records of research.
Reviews selected literature relevant to research activities.
Understands and adheres to Rowan University SOM compliance standards as
appeared in laboratory safety, code of conduct and conflict of interest policies.
Performs other related job duties, as assigned by the PI.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the candidate must have
basic trainings in biology, biochemistry, neuroscience or related fields.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in biology,
biochemistry, genetics or neuroscience. The preferred candidate shall have basic knowledge in molecular biology and genetic techniques and genetic techniques and two-years hands-on experience in a research laboratory.
