Reporting to the Assistant Director of Specialty Pharmacy Services, this position is responsible for the operational development and management of the Ambulatory Refill Authorization Program including Medication Therapy Management (MTM), Medication Reconciliation (MR) and Ambulatory Clinic Pharmacist Programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, employee supervision; education and training of pharmacists; technicians, patient advocate specialists and the analysis, development and growth of clinical pharmacy services; management of business activities related to MTM and clinical pharmacists and their support of the pharmacy department; quality assessment and process improvement; coordination of pharmacy services and collaboration with other hospital departments; teaching of pharmacy interns and residents; maintenance of practice standards, customer service and compliance with accreditation standards and applicable laws and regulations.
PharmD or BPharm (with equivalent experience).
Licensed Pharmacist in Oregon
Pharmacy Residency + 2 yrs work in hospital pharmacy (or candidate with a minimum of five years equivalent experience)
Pharmacy ambulatory care
Communication, written and verbal
Contemporary Pharmacy Practice
Extensive knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and Commercial Insurances
The incumbent will spend a significant amount of time at a computer terminal
The position must deal with situations on a daily basis with a high degree of intensity
Ability to dealwith frequent interruptions (work is often dictated by external factors) that may lead to mental fatigue or stress
Standing, walking, stooping or crouching, reaching, talking and hearing
Clarity of vision at 20 feet and 20 inches or less
Adjustment of eye to bring object into sharp focus
Ability to handle 1 5 pounds by hand continuously
Telephone, copier, fax, personal computer/terminal, common application software
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
MS, MBA, MPH, BCPS
Experience in clinical and/or business program development, MTM services, ambulatory clinic settings, electronic medical record systems
Team building and collaboration with healthcare providers to develop and expand refill authorization services, MTM, medication reconciliation and support of specialty pharmacy services
