Under a Cooperative Agreement between the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), comprehensive studies are being conducted on the ecology and life history of Pacific salmonids and other fishes. The primary purpose of these studies is to provide critical information for conservation and management of threatened and endangered species. The research team consists of UCSC staff, faculty, and students and collaborative researchers from the NMFS Santa Cruz Laboratory. Computational work and laboratory work will be conducted at the NMFS Southwest Fisheries Science Center in Santa Cruz, CA. Results will benefit resources managers and fisheries resource science in general.
Under general supervision of the project advisor, the incumbent will serve as a member of a research team investigating fish ecology and behavior. The primary responsibility of the incumbent will be to assist with annotation and analysis of imagery from the field and from experiments, and to work with the existing research team to assist with basic setup and performance of laboratory experiments.
