The Division of Cardiology seeks a Technician B to support in laboratory research efforts.
Perform PCR, cell culture, transfection, DNA isolation from bacterial culture (miniprep, midiprep) and immunoblotting (western).
Handle mice and breed mice.
Follow protocols carefully under the supervision of the PI and post-doc.
Assure compliance with animal study protocols and safety regulations.
Order and maintain laboratory supplies.
Perform other duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory.
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Physics or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience.
The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug-screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
Experience with RNA isolation and RT PCR preferred.
Position involves work with laboratory animals
Participation in medical surveillance program
Must successfully complete systems training requirements
