The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Plymouth State University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty position to begin Fall of 2020. Teaching faculty carry a teaching load of 15-16 credits per semester as well as service expectations (but are not required to participate in research), and are eligible for promotion to a senior teaching faculty rank. Teaching Faculty positions are full time, with benefits and funded on a year-to-year basis. The candidate will be expected to advise undergraduate students and provide service to the university.
Master’s degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline
Three years of experience working in a criminal justice-related field
Must be innovative, student-driven, and have strong communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of learners and collaborate effectively with students and colleagues
Demonstrated potential for excellent teaching
Skills to serve as an academic adviser and mentor for undergraduate students
Experience with teaching courses including Technology in Criminal Justice, Research Methods, and/or Statistics. The area of specialization is open, however, preference will given to candidates with interest and/or expertise in one or more of the following areas: technology in criminal justice, cybersecurity, cybercrime, and/or digital forensics
Proven record in creating course content focused on experiential and hands-on learning opportunities for students Experience training learners of any age in using technology tools and learning strategies in digital platforms and/or virtual learning environments.
Knowledgeable about emerging technologies and/or innovative pedagogy.
Participation in collaborative projects and programs with faculty and students across the college and university.
