This is a 12-month Graduate Assistant position that is part-time (25 hours per week), requires enrollment in a related graduate program. Begins June 1, 2020.
Compensation - $12,000 stipend and $8,000 tuition reimbursement

The College offers part-time graduate programs leading to degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Educational Technology, Educational Leadership, Nursing, Social Work and Special Education.
The Graduate Assistant (GA) reports to the Assistant Director of New Student Experience. The GA will assist in key aspects of the design and planning of programs for all new students as well as with the supervision of the Orientation and Transfer Connections staff. The GA will hold weekly office hours in the office and will be accessible to students for information and referrals. The GA will assist with the planning, scheduling and implementation of additional programming for new students in conjunction with the Enrollment Management/Student Affairs Division and the rest of the college. This is a part-time, 25 hour per week, 12 month position.
Assists in the coordination, promotion, supervision and evaluation of the four phase orientation model: (Summer Orientation/Welcome Week/Fall Semester Programming/Spring Semester Programming).
Assists in increasing and improving first-year and transfer support services.
Assists with the coordination of events and staffing in the Transfer Center and Veterans Lounge.
Recruits, selects, trains and supervises student Orientation Program Coordinators, Orientation Leaders and Transfer Connection staff.
Provides leadership for designated student staff. Communicates daily tasks and follows-up with student staff regularly.
Assists in recruitment, hiring, training and evaluating of student staff.
Represents the Center for Student Success at Admissions programs and campus wide meetings as needed.
Assists the Testing Center staff by serving as a test proctor on an ad hoc basis.
Assists with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programming for first year and transfer students.
Co-coordinates and New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, Winter Welcome and Family Day events for all new students.
Assists with recruitment and organizing volunteers for orientation events and conferences managed by the Center for Student Success.
Creates materials and facilitates presentations to promote Center for Student Success services.
Assists with the development and implementation of assessment tools, collects and summarizes data, and delivers recommendations.
Advises a limited caseload of students as directed by supervisor.
Provides clerical support for the Center for Student Success as needed.
Makes appointments and attends Enrollment Management/Student Affairs trainings and/or meetings, as directed by supervisor.
Stays abreast of current trends and issues within Enrollment Management/Student Affairs.
Utilizes available technology in the delivery of services.

Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Bachelor’s degree is required
Enrollment in a related graduate program is required.
Undergraduate experience in academic and student affairs services is preferred.
Excellent oral and written skills are a must.
Potential candidate should have public speaking experience and a commitment to student academic and social success.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
