This position provide fiscal management support in the Research and Sponsored Programs Office for sponsored activity, including but not limited to oversight of fiscal operations, budget review, financial reporting, and account maintenance activities.
Oversight of SUNY Cortland Research Foundation (RF) fiscal operations
Maintain budgetary control and audit oversight for all sponsored and non-sponsored programs.
Maintain spreadsheet routines as required (operating budget spreadsheet, monthly grant list, expenditure reports and registers, etc)
Complete necessary fiscal reporting: Regular review of grant portfolio, expenditure projections, review of cost share/IFR charges, and agency awards fiscal status.
Monitor and approve RF travel reimbursement/advance requests, all OTPS purchase requisitions and vendor payments to ensure purchases are allowable, allocable and reasonable.
Provide signature approval and verify pay rates as OM Delegate for any new hires on awards before they are added to payroll.
Reconcile all cash receipts and deposits (IFR funds, multiple sponsors, program income, agency awards). Monitor cash positions of sponsored, RF Funded, agency accounts and assist RF central office with collection of accounts receivable.
Coordinate and notify property control for eligible purchases equipment: assist in PCS reconciliation.
Complete the annual NSF survey and RF projection worksheet to assist in determining our annual allocation based on assessment. Assist in developing an annual RSPO operating budget.
Annual and quarterly review of 1099 & 1042S reporting (foreign and domestic vendors/individuals) according to the Payment Tax and Reporting Handbook.
Serve as campus representative as the Training Coordinator, to push training opportunities to appropriate campus employees.
Full working knowledge of RF post-award guidelines/policies/procedures is required: including AP/PO data input processes. Provide back up for the AP/PO clerical staff.
Administer SUNY awards and other state-side internal grants and awards through the BI (Business Intelligence) software in conjunction with the business office
Promote and maintain positive and effective working relationships with faculty, staff, project directors, human resources and RF central office.
