The department of Preventive Medicine is in search of a Research Project Interviewer.
A dependable,flexible, and detailâorientedindividualisneeded to join a research team at the UniversityofSouthernCaliforniatoparticipatein a researchstudy called theLongTermFollowâUpCenter(LTFC) study. The study works with childrenâs hospitals across the United Statestohelpthem keep intouch with people who participated in their treatment programs.
Employment involves (1) maintaining annual contact with survivors of childhood cancer and their parents enrolled in the study by conducting brief phone interviews; (2) accurately entering data obtained from phone interviews and incoming mail into databases; (3) assisting with mailings; (4) reviewing special cases with study team and updating databases accordingly and (5) providing project support to the research study, the study staff personnel and faculty investigators.
Excellent communication skills are preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are advantageous. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational capabilities, sharp attention to detail, superb communication and problemâsolving skills, a demonstrated ability toworkbothindependentlyandwith a team and will be very comfortable working in databases. . Schedule is 8:30â4:30pm MâF. This may vary slightly to accommodate evening and weekend phone calls after a 6 month probationary period.
Prior experience in a research environment is preferred. Bachelorâs degree in a health related field is preferred.
Minimum Education: High school or equivalentMinimum Experience: 0 - 6 monthsMinimum Field of Expertise: Knowledge of data collection procedures and some experience with data analysis. Excellent interpersonal skills needed for interaction with participants.
