The Office of Enrollment Services and Student Engagement (ESSE) at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for an Information Desk Operator. This position will require frequent telephone interaction and in-person interaction with a wide variety of constituents. This position must have superb customer service skills, and the ability to cordially juggle multiple interactions at once.
Duties & Responsibilities * Answer and route incoming calls; * Assist callers in identifying needs and then routing calls appropriately; * Greeting visitors and answering questions. * Provide information obtained from a variety of sources to field questions from the public regarding departments, phone numbers, operational hours, campus events, etc.; * Dispense general information regarding UTM business to walk-in customers; * Update and maintain personal copy of staff directory and other resources to ensure accurate dispensing of information; * Answer questions and provide some training for new operators, on-call substitutes or student help; * Performs scheduling for UTM teleconference calls and provides instructions to call participants; * Works closely with UTM Public Safety, as needed, by contacting them during emergency or non-emergency situations. * Other duties as assigned.
