The central purpose of the Research Associate I (RA1) position is to develop and implement a variety of evaluation plans, primarily for human service programs. The UT Social Work Office of Research and Public Service seeks to foster a work environment and organizational culture that values all employees and reflects the diversity of Tennessee. The external funding for this position will change from year to year, so the specific responsibilities will vary accordingly but will likely include the following: *Assist in developing and updating evaluation plans. *Identify data collection tools. *Conduct literature reviews. *Collect data through observation, interviews, focus groups, surveys, and review of administrative data. *Synthesize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data. *Coordinate with internal publications staff to produce work products. *Produce useful work products tailored to clients' and stakeholders' needs, including reports and presentations, based on evaluation findings. *Manage client relationships. The skills required for the position include: *Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation methods. *Knowledge of Microsoft Office. *Knowledge of statistical software packages and statistical analysis methodologies. *Demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. *Demonstrated skill in written and oral communication. *Ability to positively interact and collaborate with colleagues and program staff from diverse backgrounds. *Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. *Ability to work independently and in a team setting. *Ability to be flexible with respect to changing needs of the project. *Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. *Data management and analysis. *Work with internal software designers to determine database specification and reporting needs. * Organize and maintain client data sets for evaluation projects.
