Counsel and advise students on non-academic issues such as housing, residence life, health and mental health, etc. Consult with University departments to resolve student issues. Direct design and planning of School-wide events, projects and activities (i.e. Orientation, Profiles Day, Salute). Oversee formation of student clubs and organizations to maximize School goals and mission. Manage application, review and approval of non-academic leaves of absence and readmission.
Required Education: Master's Degree in Counseling or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Social Work
Required Experience: 5+ years in student advisement and counseling services experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in staff supervision, budget management and event planning
Preferred Experience: 5+ years counseling, student club organization and LOA
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing policies and procedures to a diverse population at all levels. Strong writing skills. Knowledge of standard office software. Job requires the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
