Elon University is currently accepting applications for an Elder Justice Staff Attorney. Provide direct client services, particularly legal consultations, to elderly persons who are victims of crime, domestic violence, and sexual assault served by Elon Law School’s Emergency Legal Services and Advocacy Program for Victims of Crime in the Guilford County and Alamance Family Justice Centers.
Provide civil consultation on legal matters for elderly persons who are victims of crime, domestic violence, and sexual assault, wills, living-wills, health care powers of attorney, trusts and guardianships, and long-term care planning.
Conduct eligibility screenings, intake interviews, application, and follow-up on behalf of individuals served by Elon Legal Services Program.
Comply with performance reporting system including outcomes-tracking database(s).
Liaise with family Justice Center Partners, community members and others in order to promote an effective system of referral for program services.
Collaborate with the Emergency Legal Services staff and student interns to ensure optimum delivery of program services.
Attend Elder Law trainings, as necessary.
Perform other related duties as requested.
This position is through September 30, 2021 and may be extended, subject to funding availability and Provost approval. This position offers no severance package and is dependent on continued grant funding now secured through the referenced date.

J.D. and bar admission in North Carolina required. Experience representing elderly victims of crime, domestic violence, and sexual assault; experience drafting Wills and Health Care Powers of Attorney and Guardianship proceedings.
